Strategic Procurement Buyer

A leading company is seeking a Strategic Procurement Buyer.

Main Purpose of the Role

Managing strategic procurement processes for technical equipment, production lines, services, and contractors, with a system-wide perspective, engineering understanding, and the ability to manage end-to-end processes. The role serves as the execution arm for establishing and purchasing production infrastructure in collaboration with the engineering and operations departments.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Technical and project-based procurement: Full responsibility for purchasing equipment for plants, including machinery, facilities, and production systems.

Tender and negotiation management: Leading tenders and managing commercial negotiations to close contracts, including payment terms, transportation, insurance, guarantees, and delivery timelines.

Engineering validation: Receiving specifications and drawings, with the ability to understand and match the equipment to operational needs in the field.

Import chain management: End-to-end responsibility for the import process, including permits, shipping, customs brokerage, and documentary credits.

Supplier network development: Identifying and building a strategic supplier network in Israel and abroad, and evaluating new technological alternatives.

Requirements

Education: Practical Engineer or Engineer in Industrial Engineering and Management / Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Proven experience in technical procurement, with preference for experience from industrial plants.

Professional knowledge: Experience in managing contracts and agreements.

Languages: High level of English, mandatory for working with overseas suppliers.

Personal qualities: System-wide perspective, ability to work under pressure, assertiveness in negotiations, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
